Valpolicella
Classico di Veneto (Corvina)
T
The power grape of Italy’s famed Valpolicella,
Bardolino and Amarone, Corvina is renowned for fruity, full-bodied
wines with cherry aromas and a hint of almond. The Veneto region
stretches from the northeast border with Austria down to coastal
Venice, with a mild continental climate ideal for long, controlled
ripening and intense grapes. Corvina Classico has lush, intriguing
aromas of ripe red cherries and raspberries, delicate hints of
almond, toast and spice and a richly tannic finish that has the
fruit lingering on your palate for many minutes. In the historic
footsteps of Amarone—a wine fermented with a reserve of crushed
grapeskins—the Crushendo™ grape pack brings immense grape tannin and
character to the wine. Right out of the carboy this wine will have
intense, gripping tannins, and although drinkable immediately, it
will open up and blossom into a wine of unique power and elegance
over two to four years. Silver Award*

Most people are unaware that Sonoma red wines win more awards
than Napa. Winexpert Crushendo Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon's elegant

of mocha cedar and cigar box. It is bold and chewy on the palate
with concentrated cassis, blackberry and cedar flavours along with
firm structure and smooth (but powerful) tannins showing elegance on
the long finish.

Italian Barolo
Medium-heavy in body with a luminous dark cherry colour, tannin
dominates the flavours initially, with intense grip and robust dryness
in the finish. High acid, tannin and alcohol levels challenge the palate
when the wine is young, but with age come rewards: wild ripe
strawberries hot from the sun, a whiff of dark tar, the scent of roses
and violets, and earthy, rich
truffles. Burly, assertive ‘chewy’ wine, it is not for the faint of
heart, but for those seeking intensity and
complexity, there is nothing else like Barolo.
